Today, as technology expands the already overwhelming possibilities of the performance and creation of music, the line between DJs and producers becomes increasingly blurred.

As new innovations are realised with every new generation of hardware, the scope of DJing has become greater than simply cross fading between two tracks. DJs are now incorporating their own remixes and original songs in their sets.

It is becoming increasingly common to find drum machines and laptops next to turntables and CDJs as DJs are challenged to find new ways to utilize hardware and software, thanks to an increasingly technology savvy audience with a high level of expectation.

As the nature of the music technology industry expands and develops, we can only continue to see the further interdependence between the roles of DJ and producer.
